Abigail McCrea joined the Chef Ann Foundation in August 2023 and currently serves the California Coordinator of Assessment. She comes to CAF with considerable experience in data analysis and visualization, as well as program coordination.

Abigail McCrea joined the Chef Ann Foundation in August 2023 and currently serves the California Coordinator of Assessment. She comes to CAF with considerable experience in data analysis and visualization, as well as program coordination.

Abbie studied Biology at Oberlin College and was a member of the Oberlin Student Cooperative Association, a student-run non-profit whose members work together to provide their own healthy, tasty, and environmentally wise meals. After working in infectious disease research post-grad, she completed a year of FoodCorps service, which opened her eyes to the power of connecting students to nourishing food at school. Abbie is passionate about building resilient regional food systems and sees schools as a key partner in food system transformation. She is pursuing a Master’s in Sustainable Food Systems from Arizona State University.

In her free time, you can find her at a Philadelphia Farmers Market, on an outdoor adventure, or knitting a new project.

Why School Food Matters

American kids start their life-path in K–12 schools where they learn the skills necessary to thrive & meet their potential. While the country debates the best ways to teach them math, science & English, we spend little to no time on food & nutrition.
